Nestled in the heart of Digbeth, Birmingham, The Bond is a dynamic space that seamlessly blends creativity, community, and commerce. This iconic location has evolved from its industrial roots to become a vibrant hub that fosters innovation and collaboration. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this unique building a must-experience venue.
The Bond’s story begins in the 19th century when it served as a bustling warehouse and bonded factory. Its strategic location along the Grand Union Canal made it a vital part of Birmingham's industrial landscape. Today, the beautifully restored buildings maintain their historical charm while housing modern facilities that cater to a diverse range of activities and events.
The Bond has countless notable features, however one of the most standout is their team. From the Sales team, to the on-the-day operations staff, the team at The Bond could not be more willing to help with whatever query you present, not matter how wacky!
This team continuously deliver initiatives at The Bond in order to support local artists and makers. Regular markets and pop-up events provide a platform for artisans to showcase their work, while visitors have the opportunity to discover unique, handmade products.
With this in mind, we had to try this venue for one of our corporate events. The perfect opportunity came when we were presented with the brief "an automotive conference but make it WOW, a conference that doesn't feel like a conference".
The Bond lent itself to this beautifully, with a location in the newest and most upcoming area, and its unique industrial design by the canal - this venue set the tone for what became a truly unforgettable conference. The Bond’s central location made it easily accessible by various modes of transport. It’s a short walk from Birmingham city centre and is well-served by public transport, including buses and trains. For those driving, ample parking is available on-site, which was perfect for our delegates of the automotive conference.
Aside from our event, The Bond hosts an array of events that reflect the diverse interests of the Digbeth community. From film screenings and music festivals to food fairs and art exhibitions, there's always something happening to engage and entertain visitors. Highlights include the annual Digbeth Dining Club, a popular street food market that attracts foodies from across the city, and Flatpack Festival, a celebration of film and visual culture.
In addition to all of this, The Bond also focuses on implementing environmentally friendly practices into their foundations. The venue has performed various initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, including energy-efficient lighting, waste reduction programs, and the promotion of sustainable transport options for visitors.
The Bond in Digbeth is a shining example of how historic spaces can be transformed to meet contemporary needs while preserving their heritage. Its unique blend of history, creativity, and community spirit makes it a standout venue in Birmingham.
So next time you’re planning an event in Birmingham, make sure to stop by The Bond in Digbeth – a place where the past and present come together to create something truly special.
